With all the laws voted in that allow criminals to run free, California is getting what it voted for. The burglary is well organized and due to those policies, seems to be welcomed. Chile in particular is taking advantage of the U.S. Visa Waiver program. Tourists and those traveling for business can come into the country for 90 days without a visa. Out of 41 nations, Chile is the only Latin one approved.
Lots of wealthy California homes being robbed
Chilean gangs find their target, study it and plunder it. They’re called “burglary tourists”, robbing homes throughout the state.
They use cell phone jammers to intercept Wi-Fi signals that disable alarms, hide in the bushes til the homeowner leaves and break into the second story windows to avoid ground floor detection. The Los Angeles police force has had to start a task force targeted to this.

The police chief Alan Hamilton said there were 94 affluent homes vandalized in the area. Last year Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said, “These are not crimes of opportunity. These are carefully calculated and planned attacks on what should be our safe place — our homes.”
Countries are supposed to conduct their own background checks to participate in the visa program. Chile doesn’t do that.
California is very easy to enter
Especially if you’re illegal. Some of the Chilean gangs are going across country from Florida to Alaska with efforts concentrated in the southwest. The teenage leader of one had been arrested and released twice, prompting the task force creation.
The state is plagued with homelessness and thievery, unashamedly emptying the shelves of at least Walgreens. California did this to itself. Some people, right or wrong, are cheering the thieves on. People wonder if these unintended consequences will wake residents up to needing to vote differently. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis once said each state is a “laboratory of democracy”. You can see what happens when you vote a certain way. A policy might work beautifully on paper but not work at all in reality when you throw human behavior into it.
