Multiple State Governments Forbid Children From Participating in Patriotic Event

Multiple state governments are forbidding children from placing patriotic American flags on Veteran graves for Memorial Day. These children, generally Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, traditionally venture out to cemeteries across the nation to plant American flags on the graves of fallen heroes of American wars. This ban is occurring in the states of New York, California, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Maryland.

The Department of Veteran’s Affairs has decided to prohibit this long-time tradition due to the Coronavirus panic. Thus, children in various states are prohibited from patriotic flag placements in order to continue state social distancing goals for this Memorial Day.

Kieran Monaghan, an eighteen-year-old patriotic Eagle Scout, spoke to Fox News and said, “It’s definitely a very emotional, kind of moving experience. Personally, my Dad is a veteran. He was deployed in Iraq for a year. It’s good to be able to pay our respects to our fallen heroes, it’s important to me, it’s important to the Boy Scouts, it’s important to the community and it’s something that I would hate to see go.”

Democrats are not Patriotic

It is no surprise to see California and New York on the list to ban children from this patriotic event. These Democratic governors, Gavin Newsom of California and Andrew Cuomo of New York, have implemented the most draconian stay-at-home orders since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Democrats have a reputation for showing a lack of patriotism, especially over the last ten years. 

Who can forget the National Football League kneeling during the National Anthem epidemic? When several NFL players, led by San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick, foolishly decided to protest the deaths of Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown, it was the Democrats who jumped to defend these unpatriotic athletes.

Beto O’Rourke, Texas Congressman who failed to unseat patriotic Senator Ted Cruz’s seat in 2018, was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the kneeling. Besides writing a lengthy opinionated wording for his support of the NFL ‘kneelers’, he also sent out this Tweet:

Of course, Barack Obama, the most unpatriotic United States President ever, defended these NFL players, including Colin Kaepernick, the former quarterback who stated, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”

In a 2016 CNN Town Hall meeting, Obama backed the ‘kneelers’ by stating, “I believe that us honoring our flag and our anthem is part of what binds us together as a nation. But I also always try to remind folks that part of what makes this country special is that we respect people’s rights to have a different opinion.”

It is a shame that today’s patriotic Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts cannot pilgrimage to cemeteries across the country to simply plant a flag in memory of fallen American soldiers. These men did not die for unpatriotic Democrats to disrespect the flag and control freedoms because of unseen panics.
