Yet another high profile official is being called out for their hypocrisy. Dr. Deborah Birx has been caught ignoring her own advice.
As many Americans are losing their jobs and falling into debt due to lockdowns and other restrictions, Democrats and other high profile individuals pushing for the restrictions have been caught violating them.
Responding to the “surge” of COVID, Birx warned Americans to limit their Thanksgiving gatherings to “immediate households.”
The day after Thanksgiving, she must have forgotten. According to reporting by the Associated Press, Birx traveled to one of her vacation properties in Delaware with three generations of her family from two separate households, which included her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
Kathleen Flynn, whose brother is married to Birx’s daughter, spilled the beans. Flynn told the AP that her reasoning for outing Birx is out of concern for her own parents, while also acknowledging friction in the family over the matter.
“She cavalierly violated her own guidance,” Flynn said.

What was Birx’s excuse? Apparently she wasn’t celebrating Thanksgiving, which apparently makes her rule-breaking okay. She went to her vacation property to “winterize” it prior to an upcoming sale. If that was the case, why did she need to bring her extended family?
“I did not go to Delaware for the purpose of celebrating Thanksgiving,” Birx said, though she did acknowledge her family shared a meal at the vacation home.
Ignorant of her own hypocrisy, Birx appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” to continue warning people to avoid gatherings.
“We cannot go into the holiday season, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, with the same kind of attitude, that those gatherings don’t apply to me. They apply to everybody,” she cautioned.

Dr. Angela Rasmussen, a virologist at the Georgetown Center for Global Health Science and Security, commented on Birx’s actions.
“To me this disqualifies her from any future government health position. It’s a terrible message for someone in public health to be sending to the American people,” Rasmussen told the AP.
Birx is not the first official to get called out for her hypocrisy.
One Twitter user pointed out that Birx is the most recent in a string of elites flaunting their ‘rules for thee, not for me’ attitude, writing: “Looks like Deborah Birx pulled a Gavin Newsom, who pulled an Andrew Cuomo, who pulled a Nancy Pelosi, who pulled an Anthony Fauci, who pulled a Lori Lightfoot, who pulled a Bill DeBlasio…”

Social media users were in no mood for Birx’s hypocrisy.
Steve Hilton, the host of Fox News’ “The Next Revolution,” called Dr. Birx “yet another elitist Lockdown Hypocrite.”

Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) called out Birx as well, writing: “Deborah Birx has helped lead the charge to restrict American freedom this year. There are no excuses for her failing to follow her own hysterical recommendations to the letter of the law. As I’ve been saying for months, she needs to go – immediately.”
