Democrats are giving us a really good idea of what they will try to do to the Supreme Court if they get back into the White House and can control both chambers of Congress.
Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) revealed his plan to expand the court and allow Democrats to pack the judiciary.
If you ever needed a reason to get out to the polls this year, this is it.
Expanding the Court
Dems cannot stand the fact that the GOP now has a 6-3 edge on the court.
Granted, if Trump loses this election, that could change rather quickly because three of the four oldest members of the court are conservatives.
Over the next four to eight years, I would expect all three of them to leave the bench and if Trump loses, the Dems could completely flip the court.
Wyden would like to cement that by adding six seats to the court as well as significantly expanding the judiciary, all seats that would be appointed by Democrats if Harris was in the White House and they were able to get his legislation passed.
Wyden stated, “The Supreme Court is in crisis and bold solutions are necessary to restore the public trust
“More transparency, more accountability and more checks on a power hungry Supreme Court are just what the American people are asking for.”
Schaerr Jaffe law firm partner and Senior Fellow at Center for Renewing America Mark Paoletta responded, “This shows Democrats entire ethics smear campaign against Justices was pretext to pack [the] Court.
“Democrats don’t want an independent Supreme Court. Despite attacks on Justices, Court’s approval rating is much higher than the dismal 20% for Congress. Clean up your own house.”
As we have seen over the last two administrations, it appears that the courts are far more important than Congress these days because every law seems to get challenged.
This is why Dems want to expand the court so badly.
Every move they make is about power… and this proves it.
