The truth of the elite, authoritarian Democrat party is kept hidden so when somebody who works in it sees it and sounds the alarm, we should take notice. A campaign fundraiser and operative saw the nastiness at the recent DNC and decided she’d had enough. Evan Barker had worked with Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and was a fundraiser at the federal level.
The current Democrat party
Barker wrote about her recent DNC experience. “I felt submersed in a hollow chamber whose mottos were ‘Brat summer’ and ‘Joy’ — totally out of touch with regular, every-day Americans and their pressing needs; instead, the most elite people in the world chanted in unison that ‘We’re not going back!’”
It left her “feeling disenchanted, lost, sad, and alone. As someone who has given her life to Democratic politics, it was devastating.” She watched the Democrat party morph into something ugly. They were elitists, wanted endless war and identity politics.
Democrat family
She grew up in it so it made sense at the time. She was in a working class family of lifelong Democrats near Kansas City, Missouri. It stands to reason she’d think the party represented her interests.
But over time, the exhausting and degrading task of begging the wealthy for money took its toll. “At first, I naively thought the system was broken. But now I realize, it isn’t broken; it’s doing what it was designed to do, which is to keep working class people from true representation. That is the point, a feature, not a bug.”
Democrat politics
That ate at her too. She thought progressives were “compromised by the social justice language and divisive identity politics that now dominates the entire Democratic ecosystem.” The Democrats of the ‘60’s were anti-war. It’s been reversed.
She was shocked to find “the Democrats have embraced [President George W.] Bush-era foreign policy to become the party of war.” The last straw was Kamala Harris being excited about a Dick Cheney endorsement. She was exasperated. “It was the cherry on the cake that Vice President Kamala Harris has been proudly touting an endorsement from Dick Cheney. Dick Cheney!” The party had grown too “condescending and paternalistic.” Now, the party she worked to help calls her a liar and says that she never worked for them. But she stands on her credentials. There’s “a massive difference between what they say and what they do.”
