Four bodies have been discovered in a south Indianapolis pond and were verified by the Marion County coroner to be a missing father and his three children.
27-year-old Kyle Moorman, 5-year-old Kyle Moorman II, 2-year-old Kyannah Holland and 1-year-old Kyran Holland were found in a small pond nearby the cross-section of Troy Avenue and Bluff Road. Their causes of death remain unknown at this time.
Police arrived at the pond after receiving a call about a body in the water at about 7:45 p.m. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department later tweeted that the responding officers were conducting an investigation at the location at 9:30 p.m.
That same night at 10 p.m. divers from the Indianapolis Fire Department were able to recover a man’s body from the pond, which is the exact location of Moorman’s last phone signal before he went missing on July 7.
A vehicle was also discovered with the bodies of three small children inside, which matched the description of the vehicle Moorman was driving when he was seen last, according to IMPD Assistant Chief Chris Bailey.
Moorman’s family claimed that he said he would be going fishing with his three children at 11:00 p.m. on July 6, but never returned.
A few days later and Moorman’s family was with police at the site of the pond, where police were unable to uncover tracks heading towards the water and made the decision to not call for a dive team.
According to IMPD, the only thing discovered at the time was a baby bottle near the water, which was collected for evidence.
