Federal officials at the Department of Homeland Security “tightened the noose” on Antifa Wednesday by opening investigations into leaders of “Antifa and other organizations,” responsible for the recent coast-to-coast violence.
Antifa necks in the noose
Chad Wolf is the guy currently in charge of securing our homeland and he takes his job seriously. He told Fox news on Wednesday that they aren’t just sitting back and watching the children of darkness burn cities to the ground, they’re going after the organizers. Radical leaders may not get their necks stretched by a noose, but they should face serious consequences for inciting riots.
Antifa is involved, but officially they claim not to have a thing to do with anything that’s happened. Whether they have official Antifa membership cards or not, the rioters all use Antifa tactics. According to acting Secretary Wolf, what we have seen as far are “groups like Antifa or anarchists in general.”
“We have a number of investigators at the department that are working with DOJ and working with FBI. We know that they have opened up a number of cases specifically targeting some of the leaders of Antifa and other organizations that are involved.”
Violent protests at night
The intelligence reports coming into his office suggest groups of anarchists are “primarily moving these violent protests and these organizations in a certain way.” The worst of the violence “usually occurs after nightfall,” Wolf notes. “When it gets to the night, we see the more violent protests starting to happen.”
That’s when the “organized” crimes start, ones “loosely organized during the day to achieve a specific goal.” Right now, Wolf calls the movement “loosely organized” within metropolitan cities. He’s not so sure it’s “being organized across the country in an organized way,” at least not yet. “we’re continuing to analyze the intelligence and really getting the feedback from the state and local law enforcement officials in these individual cities.”
The worst part, Wolf says, is that he’s getting reports that “Antifa groups & anarchists are organizing to turn peaceful protests into violent riots.” The ones who are risking the noose are those crafting the strategy. “They’re hiding homemade weapons, staging bricks & other supplies, to target law enforcement.”
Wolf suggests there might be more than they originally believed on the issue of “brick staging,” too. New York City’s police Commissioner Dermot Shea reported that “Pre-staged bricks are being placed, and then transported to — quote, unquote — ‘peaceful protests,’ which are peaceful protests, but then used by that criminal group within to sow fear.” He went on to add, “We have had a construction site burglarized in recent days in Manhattan. And it’s interesting. A construction site burglary is not that uncommon, but, during a riot, it’s interesting what was taken. Bricks.”
