In April Trump was indicted so his conceal carry permit was suspended. Now that New York has convicted him of 34 felonies, the police department is preparing to revoke that permit completely. He handed over two pistols he was licensed to carry on March 31, 2023 but another firearm on his license was legally moved to Florida. A felon is unable by law to carry a firearm. He had his license for over a decade.
Trump fervently upheld the Second Amendment
He’s going to have his own gun rights trampled on by New York Democrats. He had a conceal carry license during office and before. His license was quietly suspended while he was indicted.
He’ll have the ability to challenge this in a hearing but since New York hates him so much the effort is likely a lost cause. The president doesn’t really need to carry a firearm since he has Secret Service protection, but at the same time, the point is he’s being denied a basic Constitutional right.
This is far from a typical case. Trump has been politically prosecuted, harassed and tormented by Democrats bent on revenge.
Nobody steps in
Democrats are doing this because they can. Nobody with the power to stop it dares step in.
Legal experts have weighed in, saying it was a show trial. A few more people have offered criticism, among them Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Former Attorney General Bill Barr.
Cotton offered,
“I disagree with the jury’s verdict here. A jury can only act within the constraints that a judge puts on it, and this case was rigged from the very beginning. You had Alvin Bragg, who campaigned on getting Donald Trump. You had the judge, who’s a literal Biden donor, and at every turn he ruled in favor of the prosecution. … He never even insisted the prosecution reveal the alleged underlying crime for which Donald Trump supposedly covered up in – in bookkeeping entries. At every turn the judge put his finger on the scales, practically forcing the jury to find – to reach this outcome. … there’s no question Donald Trump should win on appeal.”
Former Trump Attorney General
Barr said,
“I said from the very start that this was an abomination. And I actually was surprised that they went ahead with the case because there really was nothing there. There was no crime there and they never were able to really articulate it until after the defense rested its case. So I thought the whole thing was a travesty. This case is going to be overruled because there are just multiple errors and violations of constitutional rights. This will be eventually overruled after the election.”
So what’s next? Put him on probation so the Democrats can watch his every move? Bankrupt him by forcing him to pay huge fines?
The average American doesn’t have the resources Trump does. An example is the January 6 prisoners. If you make too much noise about supporting Trump, you’re next in the cross hairs.
