Gloves Are Off: Shocking Trump Info Drops

Donald Trump has taken the gloves off and sued Christopher Steele for the “personal and reputational damage and distress” caused by his disgustingly fictional “dossier.” The one bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton. He sued the mercenary spook in the U.K. under their system of laws. The hearing just started.

Hold Steele accountable

It’s time for rightful President Donald Trump to hold the lying Christopher Steele responsible for all the damage he’s done. Trump sued the former MI6 officer personally, along with his “consultancy,” Orbis Business Intelligence, alleging “data protection breaches.

The dirty dossier was leaked all over Washington in a blatant attempt to smear a political candidate and interfere with the 2016 election. It continued to be used and was a factor in the 2020 contest, even though it had been totally debunked by then.

The hearing just got started on Monday, October 16. The court will be deciding how much responsibility Steele bears for assembling a folder full of made up fiction to suggest that “Russia had compromising material on Trump.

One of the dossier’s most salacious claims was that Trump engaged in “perverted sexual acts,” which “were monitored by Russian security services.” The Russian intelligence agents who spoon fed those stories to a cohort of Steele’s have admitted they were having a contest to see who could come up with the most outrageous story off the top of their head. They all ended up being used as verified reports.

Steele “wrote the report for Fusion GPS, a private investigation firm that received funding from Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

As soon as it was complete, “dossier was leaked to BuzzFeed, which published it in early 2017.” When the world learned who assembled that dossier, he instantly went into hiding.

Not the first time

Trump’s lawyers must have some extra evidence to use which other victims didn’t have available because this isn’t the first time Steele and Orbis have been sued for has scandalous behavior.

We do know that Steele’s been accused of leaking directly to the press, so that the FBI could use the stories to confirm the dossier in court. Back in 2020, Britain’s High Court tossed a similar case.

That one was a libel case brought by Russian businessman Aleksej Gubarev. The judge had no problem ruling that it was clear that “while references in the report were defamatory and caused harm to Gubarev’s reputation, Steele could not be held responsible for the report becoming public.

That team of lawyers didn’t have proof where the press leaks came from.

Separately, another case had much better success. “Orbis was ordered to pay Russian oligarchs Petr Aven and Mikhail Fridman $22,000 each after they brought a case claiming the dossier contained inaccurate personal data relating to them that was non-compliant under data protection laws.

Trump definitely seems to have a case against Steele on that count, too. The hearing is scheduled to last two days, the decision won’t be handed down for a while.
