A mom in Dallas, Texas, shot her daughter’s abusive boyfriend dead. Police don’t have a whole lot of choice and are charging her with murder. This is one of those stories which is more of a “symptom” of civilizational collapse than an actual “crime.” Hopefully, Patricia Conlon will get a sympathetic jury.
Mom arrested for murder
One mom wasn’t about to stand by and let any man continue physically abusing her daughter, Jenny Archer, and now she’s facing the consequences of her action. On August 27, police arrested 49-year-old Patricia Conlon “in connection with the murder of her daughter’s boyfriend.”
She “allegedly shot Joshua Troutte, 34, to death at the victim’s home on the 4800 block of Ash Lane in Dallas around 1:50 p.m. Sunday.”
All Ms. Conlon could say in her defense is that Troutte and her daughter had been in an “ongoing domestic disturbance” since December 2021. It’s over now.
If a man had killed him, he'd be hailed a hero. Ffs. ????

The string of events which ended with the mom putting Troutte out of her daughter’s misery began on Saturday. He had “apparently hit Conlon’s daughter in the head with a cellphone the day before the shooting. Her daughter said she was going to end the relationship and move out of Troutte’s home.”
Mom couldn’t simply help get her daughter’s belongings out and leave it at that. Conlon allegedly entered Troutte’s home with a firearm. She apparently had what she was about to do next already decided. It wasn’t something which happened in the heat of an emotionally explosive moment.
According to Troutte’s roommate, the abusive boyfriend saw the gun in mom’s hand and was all set to accept his fate. “Just shoot me!” He yelled. She did.

Hold him at gunpoint
After mom realized she was standing over a dead body with a smoking gun in her hand, she knew she had to get a story straight for the police. She gave them one but it doesn’t exactly add up.
While innocent until proven guilty, that shouldn’t be difficult to accomplish and her lawyers will probably negotiate something reasonable, if she’s willing to cooperate.
The vigilante mom “told police that she entered Troutte’s home with a gun because she was planning to hold him at gunpoint so he could not flee the scene, as he had apparently done in the past.”

Why him leaving while the daughter moved out would be a bad thing isn’t exactly clear. She continues to insist that “she had acted in self-defense.”
According to Conlon, “the victim had grabbed her hair and pulled her arm.” The only problem with that is police can’t find any evidence to match those claims. It’s obvious that Troutte was not a model citizen and the world will be a better place without him in it. He had “pleaded guilty to assault and family violence charges in 2018.”
That doesn’t excuse a protective mom for becoming judge, jury and executioner. The courts tend to frown on that. An actual jury of her peers will certainly take into consideration that in today’s society, the police are useless and laws in general are ignored. Criminals run around un-prosecuted everywhere. What Conlon did wasn’t right but if the professionals had been doing their jobs she wouldn’t have had to it.
