Recently a woman in Alvin, Texas was arrested for making alarming and violent threats against U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan and Democrat Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas.
The criminal complaint says that after investigators were able to trace a voicemail left by Abigail Jo Shry on August 5th, she admitted to making it.
The message began with “Hey you stupid slave,” followed by racial epithets then proceeded to make threats against those who were against Trump, including Democrats in Washington D.C., members of the LGBTQ community, along with Chutkan and Lee saying “You are in our sights, we want to kill you.”
She also threatened that if Trump didn’t get re-elected in 2024 they would come back to “kill” them as well.
Her case has been assigned to Chutkan who was nominated by former President Obama back in 2014 which could be seen as a conflict of interest as far as Republicans are concerned since there has already been suspicion surrounding election fraud cases with President Trump involved.
Shry faces one count of transmitting a threat to injure another person which carries up to five years maximum prison sentence if found guilty beyond reasonable doubt following a trial.
Magistrate Judge Sam Sheldon ordered Shry held without bond based on past similar charges during Monday’s hearing.
He noted that she had previously been charged with misdemeanor threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury prior to allegedly leaving said voicemail towards Chutkan and Lee regarding their stance opposing President Trump’s reelection bid last year.
Friday’s hearing saw Judge Chutkan cautioning attorneys working on behalf of former President Donald Trump about inflammatory statements made by him or his staff through public media outlets that could potentially threaten the integrity of proceedings.
