Police have identified a man connected to a social media account which they have been investigating in connection to the unsolved 2017 murder of two teenage girls in Delphi, Indiana. Police announced that they were looking for information relating to the man behind fake social media accounts and quickly discovered that Kegan Anthony Kline of Peru, Indiana was operating the Snapchat and Instagram accounts. Kline has not been officially named as a suspect yet.
Man possibly linked to Delphi murders
Police in Delphi, Indiana have been working diligently but quietly since 2017 to find the person responsible for the deaths of 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German.
The girls were killed while hiking on a trail in Deer Creek Township, Indiana on February 13, 2017. Authorities say that German managed to capture key evidence on her phone before their deaths.
Investigators have strongly believed that the murders were committed by a local hiding in plain sight but nothing concrete has come out of their efforts thus far.
Kline fits with the assumption that the murders were carried out by a local, though it is unclear what specifically motivated police to say there might be a link between his account and the killings.
Kline’s social media presence used pictures of a male model with the intention of enticing underage girls to send him nude images or agree to meet him in person.
The 27-year-old, who is significantly fatter than the male model whose pictures he employed, is currently in custody for possessing child pornography.
Police still quiet about details
Police have received thousands of tips related to the case, though they have been quiet about much of the investigation, hoping to keep secret information which only the killer should know.
Still, the lack of detailed information on the crime scene, cause of death, and other key elements of the case has been frustrating to some observers.
Police, for instance, have not elaborated on why Kline and his social media presence is of interest or thought to have some potential connection to the murders.
The situation has been particularly difficult for the community of Delphi given the opinion held by police that they have already talked to the killer.
Local residents have spent several years not knowing whether or not they might be speaking to a murderer as they interact with one another.
Kegan Anthony Kline may or may not be connected to the Delphi murders but Indiana residents can at least be thankful that one more creep has been locked up.
