Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wrote on Twitter that he will be attending a “MAGA Rally” in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday. The rally is part of an ongoing effort by President Donald Trump to overturn the election results.
MAGA rally to stop the steal
January 6th marks the day Congress is set to certify the Electoral College results, which is a formality ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration later this month.
Paxton tweeted “Confirmed: Join me and @realDonaldTrump in Washington D.C. this Wednesday, January 6th. All Patriots need to be present to stand with President Trump.”
This is not the first time Paxton has backed the effort by President Trump to change the outcome of the presidential election.
Last month, Paxton led the charge in a U.S. Supreme Court filing from the State of Texas on Tuesday against Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
Paxton charged that the states violated the Electors Clause of the U.S. Constitution by changing voting laws via executive and judiciary power but not through the state legislatures.

Paxton has claimed the case probes “unlawful and constitutionally tainted votes” in four battleground states that handed the White House to Joe Biden. Experts, state officials and U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr have all said there is no evidence of voter fraud on a scale that could change the election results.
In the suit, Paxton claims that pandemic-era changes to election procedures in the four targeted states violated federal law and asks the U.S. Supreme Court to block the states from voting in the Electoral College.
The Supreme Court refused to hear the case. In an interview with Conservative Youtuber Steven Crowder, Paxton spoke about the existential stakes of the lawsuit.
“I’m thankful that this case has created enough interest that now we’ve got people focused on it,” he said. “This really is crunch time. It’s a threshold issue of survival for our democracy.”
