When news broke that former President Barack Obama’s personal chef had gone missing, the public was naturally concerned.
Tafari Campbell’s body was found in a pond behind Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard property on July 23, 2023.
The mystery surrounding his death has been an ongoing investigation since then.
Recently, Judicial Watch obtained 18 pages of records through the Massachusetts Public Records Law which shed light on the tragic events leading up to his death and how it was discovered.
Judicial Watch has obtained 18 pages of records through the Massachusetts Public Records Law that reveal Obama’s deceased Personal Chef Tafari Campbell’s clothes were found “separate from the body.”

According to the Edgarton Police Department records, Secret Service agents reported Tafari Campbell missing.
A July 23 CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) Incident Report stated that “Secret Service Agent [redacted] adv swimmers unable to locate the party at this time.”
It continued by saying “Party last scene [sic] wearing all black, on a paddle board, African American male.”
Furthermore, they noted that no life vest was worn and they recovered both the paddle board and clothing but still had not made contact with him.
At 8:25 p.m., according to Judicial Watch reports, the Oak Bluffs Fire Department sent out a dive team for further investigation; shortly thereafter, at 8:36 p.m., a Coast Guard helicopter and state police helicopter were deployed as well.
Ultimately it was sonar technology that located his body in the pond behind Obama’s property.
Sergeant William Bishop wrote in his report on this incident “the dive team search continued and a deceased Mr. Campbell was located using sonar”.
The investigation is now being handled by Massachusetts State Police and The Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office with no further action taken so far.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton released a statement regarding their obtaining of information about this tragedy from Massachusetts Public Records Law saying “It is concerning that Judicial Watch had to push and push for information on this tragic death such as the new revelation that the Obama’s Secret Service protection reported Mr. Campbell missing.”
I think we can all agree the public deserves answers about what happened here.
This sentiment has been echoed throughout social media creating much discussion among citizens about what could have possibly led up to such an unfortunate event.
