On Sunday morning, Joe Biden dropped a note on X that he was dropping out of the race.
It was then announced that Biden would speak on the matter when he returned to the Oval Office later in the week.
Within hours, the GOP had a campaign ad out ripping Harris, just to remind the American people who she really is.
The Plan…
This is pure speculation on my part, but I think I have a pretty good idea of how all this went down.
Harris was playing nice with Joe in public, but I believe that she had agreed that if Biden did not step down, she would use the 25th Amendment to have him removed from office.
She did not want to say anything publicly because she knows that she needs Biden’s support and any public statement against Biden would likely end her career.
In the meantime, the political elites, such as Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer, told Biden that if he did not step down from the election, they would remove him from office altogether, shattering his legacy.
So, Biden did step down, but the GOP does not want the American people to forget that Harris is even worse than Joe Biden in terms of radical policies and positions.
The party was ready for this announcement, and within hours of Biden stepping down, MAGA Inc., a pro-Trump PAC, released this ad against Harris…

I expect Harris to get an initial bump in polling, but all that will settle down soon enough, and once she announces her VP, we will have a much better idea of where she stands.
While we will report on polling, don’t expect a truly accurate picture until early September.
It will also be interesting to see if Harris responds to the pressure being applied by Trump to debate Harris, laying down a new set of rules compared to those he agreed with to debate Biden.
Harris will not get the same concessions that Biden got, and Harris needs these debates more than Trump, so the shoe has gone to the other foot.
