Donald Trump just got some rather great news.
The latest ABC News/WaPo poll has Trump zooming out to a 10-point lead over Biden.
The poll created havoc in the media, with WaPo actually discrediting its poll to downplay the results.
Outlier or Trend?
In the overall scheme of things, one poll is not to be trusted on its own.
If this poll is not an outlier, we will find out soon enough.
I could not help but laugh at the panic, however, including by WaPo, which called its own poll an outlier.
The reason I bring that up is because when they had polls where Biden was up by larger numbers, they never tried to discredit the poll.
What they did not downplay, however, was just how much Biden is taking a hit on the economy and immigration.
Biden is underwater by 35 and 39 points, respectively, in those two categories.
Trump was all over Truth Social bragging about the numbers.
A lot of Trump surrogates also pounced, saying this will be the new trend that we will see.
I am a bit more reserved because I like to see four or five polls go in the same direction before I jump on this as a trend.
So, let’s just wait and see how the next few polls turn out to see if Trump is finally getting a lead on Biden.
