Crossing Commerce in JEOPARDY Thanks to Mayorkas’ Latest Plan

The spiking migrant invasion, currently up to thousands per day, may shut down the Bridge of the Americas to truck traffic. The crossing between Juarez and El Paso “may soon see even more disruption from a growing influx of migrants as U.S. officials plan to divert commercial truck traffic.

Invasion could snarl commerce

The invasion is crippling El Paso, Texas. Lawmaker Veronica Escobar is furious with Alejandro Mayorkas about it and gave him a piece of her mind. “I told Secretary Mayorkas that this is very harmful and they need to find another option.” Stand in line, like the migrants.

The latest version of his ever fluid “plan” is to “cause confusion for the regional manufacturing sector and create backlogs at the Ysleta and Santa Teresa ports of entry.

He will accomplish that by forcing the invasion force to use the Bridge of the Americas. That will force commercial traffic to cross elsewhere. The move came as “part of a hectic Tuesday that saw federal, state and local officials scrambling to contain a growing crisis.” Without admitting there is a crisis.

Mayorkas is allegedly responsible for “immigration and border security.” Immigration means hand everyone who walks across a cell phone. Security is simply a joke. Any terrorist in a ghillie suit can wander on in.

When asked “for details of the commercial trucking and migrant processing plans,” spokesunit Roger Maier claimed there is one.

Regular operations continue,” invasion or not. Daily, around 460 trucks line up for inspection at the bridge located in Central El Paso. Ysleta is about to be overwhelmed first, because it’s the closest crossing. Santa Teresa can only get about 414 trucks through in a single day.

Break the border

Local truckers who rely on the crossing think Mayorkas has lost his mind. They’re convinced he wants to “break the border.” With the invasion taking all their resources, Texas Department of Public Safety is on the alert for smugglers to ramp up their work, too.

They decided to resume “enhanced commercial vehicle safety inspections” at ports of entry. That will slow traffic to a crawl where it can still get through at all.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is responsible for ensuring the safety of Texans across our state, including on our roadways.

Mexican cartels and human traffickers have shown a clear disregard for those they smuggle in dangerous conditions, like the 53 migrants who died in a tractor trailer in San Antonio,” the governor’s office stated. The invasion is a separate crisis and the feds should be doing something about it.

Joe Biden’s handlers were getting ready for the big flood to hit on December 21, when Title 42 ends, but the invasion started early. Over the past weekend, “more than 3,100 migrants have been released to the streets in El Paso.” That’s because the shelter there is way above capacity and the migrants just keep flooding in.

The city has refused to declare an emergency unless FEMA coughs up some up-front cash. They’re still owed around 8 million for what they covered so far which hasn’t been reimbursed. Either leave a deposit or handle it on the federal level like you should be doing, the Mayor insists.
