Elon Musk encouraged those who are independently minded to cast your vote for Republicans. A Democrat holds the highest seat in the land so the power is split. He announced that he voted early for a Republican for the first time, Mayra Flores in southern Texas. He was asked who he’d support in the 2024 Presidential election, he said DeSantis. The COVID lockdowns frustrated Elon to the point of switching.
Musk sees benefits
It curbs the worst of both. He tweeted out, “Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties. Therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic.”
He sees the red wave too given Biden’s record. “I voted for Mayra Flores — first time I ever voted Republican. Massive red wave in 2022.” He’s always voted Democrat. Not anymore.

Musk will vote red
“I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically. Like I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear. Now this election, I will.”
During the COVID lock downs California officials prevented him from reopening a large Tesla plant there. This frustration prompted the move to Texas.
Musk encouraging others
To “take the red pill”. He thought leftists were “losing the middle”. Strategists are seeing the same thing. Even fellow Democrat lawmakers are commenting in this direction. ThirdWay is a center left think tank. They said the Democrat party is out of touch recently. Republicans are doing much better on the economy and immigration. People are voicing concerns over Democrats not paying attention to the economy.
The group published a memo, “The results indicate that Democrats are underwater on issues voters name as their highest priorities, including the economy, immigration, and crime, they are perceived as distant from the electorate ideologically, and voters question whether the party shares essential values like patriotism and the importance of hard work.”
