According to Oakland police spokesperson Paul Chambers, at least two of the “pirates” who “have been raiding boats” docked along the Oakland-Alameda Estuary have been captured. The crew of a U.S. Coast Guard vessel patrolling the swashbuckling waters of San Francisco Bay captured a pair of low-budget buccaneers, “accused of breaking into yachts and houseboats.”
Pirates nabbed with the booty
On Monday, October 9, Oakland police were thrilled to announce that the Coast Guard solved a problem they’ve been having with pirates in San Francisco Bay.
They’ve been terrorizing boat owners up and down the 800-foot wide Oakland-Alameda Estuary for months. Human cockroaches in barely floating abandoned boats have been pillaging and plundering the yacht club and marina on a regular basis.
As reported by local outlets, the pirates “use a smaller craft to board the larger boats and then steal whatever they can get their hands on.” Sometimes, they steal the entire boat.

If it’s not suitable as an upgrade to the one they’re sailing already, they simply loot anything off them of value and sink the stolen ships miles away in open water to hide the evidence.
“There has been an increase in crime on the waterway, and it’s likely due to a few new anchor-out persons that have recently acquired a sailboat and anchored in the Oakland Estuary.”
By “anchor-out” that means live aboard your boat and do as you please. “Recently acquired” as in “stole” and that’s the new lingo for modern day pirates in uber-liberal San Francisco.

A city on the water
In San Francisco Bay, there’s practically an entire city full of people floating around. Only a few of them are pirates but most of the rest are filthy rich, which makes them huge targets.
“There are numerous marinas with about 3,000 boat slips in the area. Many people live on their boats and have been on edge due to the recent uptick in crime.”
Marcus Powell lives on a boat in one of Alameda’s marinas. He’s nervous, especially at night. “It’s gotten to the point where I am sleeping with a weapon next to me.”
San Fran Officials Warn Residents About Pirates????

Authorities didn’t name the two pirates they apprehended but the investigators on shore are “working to build a federal case against them.”
At least one of the men is being held in jail on charges of “possession of stolen property.” They’re hoping that they can develop more information to lead them to finding even more pirates. The yacht club recently had some really pricey speedboats snatched.
When the police told them not to try and go after them they ignored the advice and soon recovered their property themselves. Police don’t like the locals going vigilante but the locals really don’t like being raided by pirates. That makes it a stand off.
