The proper term to describe what Merrick Garland created is “unholy mess,” one rattled CNN analyst declares. His actions have given Congress “little alternative but to launch a long-discussed impeachment inquiry into [alleged] President Joe Biden.” The non-investigation of Hunter Biden came to light just in time for his deal to fall apart in court on the very day it was expected to be rubber stamped into history.
Garland defies Congress
Merrick Garland gave Congress a slap in the face. They have been out on vacation ever since and they can’t wait to get back to work. The first thing they plan to start with is an impeachment investigation against Joe Biden. They’ll be doing one on the head of the secret police as well.
He may run around acting like he really runs this country but there are a few committees in the House working to do something to correct that.
Even before the “sweetheart deal of the century” fell through, the investigation of Hunter Biden had serious problems. Because U.S. Attorney David Weiss was a good friend of Hunter’s deceased brother Beau Biden, he had no intention of filing any charges against Hunter for anything at all. His assistant prosecutor, Derek Hines, has a close relationship with the Biden family mole, “One Eye.”

He’s been outed by whistleblower Gal Luft as working to keep an eye out inside the DOJ for the Biden family associates in China. For a hefty fee. Since then, he’s been identified as former FBI director Louis Freeh, who’s close association with Hines has been widely reported. The fix was in. Weiss never needed to ask Garland for more authority because he had all he needed to let Hunter off the hook.
When the investigating team learned there would be no charges, they came forward to the House Ways and Means Committee. Weiss quickly filed some misdemeanors which he and Garland expected the judge to approve simply because they asked her to. When she saw the 900 pages sent to her by the committee in opposition to the deal, she started asking all the tricky questions.
The deal crumbled and Biden was forced to accept that there will be felony charges of some sort in his future, probably related to his failure to register as a foreign agent, along with some money laundering, influence peddling and bribery. There will be matching charges for Joe and several other members of the family.
The fix is still in
In response to all the criticism that Weiss didn’t have proper authority when he needed it, Garland went ahead and made him special prosecutor. There are a number of problems with that. One is that the regulations say a special prosecutor has to be from “outside” the DOJ. Weiss isn’t.
Not only that, giving him more authority to bring charges doesn’t give him any more desire to do so than he had before. The fix is still in. What we really need is an investigation of the investigation and we get that with an impeachment inquiry into Joe. It’s like an extra added bonus.
The IRS whistleblowers revealed that Weiss intentionally allowed the statute of limitations to run out preventing Hunter Biden to be charged with felony tax crimes.
For Democratic members and Attorney General Merrick Garland, the Hunter Biden investigation has truly become the “theater of the absurd” that Raskin predicted … only no one is laughing.https://t.co/KcIxNitNq3

“There reportedly was an agreement to extend that period, including on the violations tied to the most controversial alleged payments from sources in Ukraine and other countries. The two witnesses testified that the Justice Department instead allowed the statute of limitations to expire.” Garland had to be in on that decision.
An FBI agent has since come forward to confirm the IRS investigators’ testimony that “the DOJ tipped off the Biden team on attempts to interview Hunter and to conduct searches.” Between them, the whistleblowers “describe an investigation that was anything but the ‘routine‘ matter described by congressional Democrats in seeking to block House investigations.”
Not only did Garland appoint Weiss as a far from independent special counsel, he “again refused to expressly extend the special counsel’s mandate to include influence-peddling allegations involving President Biden.” The more they duck, bob and weave, the more everyone thinks they look guilty. When truth and right are on your side you don’t have to play all sorts of tricky games and hide evidence.
