A popular pastor is headed to retirement.
Dallas pastor Matt Chandler made some “unwise” posts.
Now he is losing his congregation and being forced out.
Gone
Chandler heads the Village Church of Dallas.
The “scandal” is regarding messages he exchanged with a woman.
The messages were not believed to be sexual in nature, but the church did not believe the language was befitting someone in his position.
The church stated that he “did not use language appropriate for a pastor, and he did not model a behavior that we expect from him.”
So, just like that, he is out as head pastor.
As to his future, the church stated, “Matt will spend time during his leave from the pulpit focusing on his development with the elders and guided by outside counselors.
“He will also continue to fulfill limited administrative leadership duties.”
