It is clear that Donald Trump will never let go of the 2020 election.
Since the election, CNN has been among the networks that have unloaded on Trump for pushing “The Big Lie.”
Now Trump is firing back, filing a 282 report demanding that CNN retract and apologize for the defamatory comments made in its reports.
If they do not respond within 10 days, Trump says he is ready to take this to court.
Won’t Happen
On Wednesday, Trump announced, “I have notified CNN of my intent to file a lawsuit over their repeated defamatory statements against me.
“I will also be commencing actions against other media outlets who have defamed me and defrauded the public regarding the overwhelming evidence of fraud throughout the 2020 Election.
“I will never stop fighting for the truth and for the future of our Country!”
It sounds great, and his base will love it, but this will never amount to anything other than egg on his face.
His advisers should have tied him up and held him down to stop this from happening, but now it is out there and there is nothing that can be done to stop this train wreck.
Trump will likely draw a liberal judge who will dismiss the case with prejudice… end of story.
There are bigger repercussions, though.
Polls have shown that most voters are tired of hearing about the 2020 election, regardless of whether they think the outcome was rigged, but Trump will not let it go.
He is beating Biden by about five points in most election polls, but that could go the wrong way if he keeps looking back and does not present a real plan to get us out of this mess.
I beg you, Mr. Trump, move on before it costs us all the White House again in 2024.
