A violent axe-wielding mob of approximately 20 individuals descended upon a Coastal GasLink pipeline work site, attacking employees, security, and police officers. One Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer was reportedly injured during the attack.
While the Canadian government and its authoritarian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, were busy imposing a form of martial law on peaceful protesters in Ottawa, a terrorist attack was taking place in another part of Canada.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) were called to the scene of Marten Forest Service Road near Houston, British Columbia shortly after midnight on February 17th after receiving a report from Coastal GasLink security that acts of violence were taking place at their work site.
The report indicated that approximately 20 individuals, some of whom were armed with axes, were attacking security guards at the pipeline work site and smashing their vehicle windows. It was also initially reported that some employees of Coastal GasLink were trapped by the axe-wielding mob, but upon arrival, police discovered that all had managed to safely leave the area.
Apparently, the axe attack was well-planned. When the police arrived, there were several obstacles making their approach difficult.
“Upon police attendance at the 41 km mark, the roadway had been blocked with downed trees, tar covered stumps, wire, boards with spikes in them, and fires had been lit throughout the debris. As police worked their way through the debris and traps, several people threw smoke bombs and fire lit sticks at the police, injuring one officer,” a statement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police reads.

Disturbing news of domestic terrorism from northern BC: 20 axe-wielding attackers set upon security guards early today at a natural gas pipeline worksite. One Mountie injured in arson attack.
