UPDATE: One of the Capitol police officers died at the hospital, while the other is still being treated for his injuries. The suspect has been identified as Noah Green, 25, of Indiana, who is a self-described “Follower of Farrakhan,” in reference to anti-Semitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, according to his Facebook page.
Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. is currently on lockdown due to an “external security threat” which involved two police officers being rammed by a vehicle.
In a post on Twitter, Capitol Police confirmed that a suspect “rammed a vehicle into two [US Capitol Police] officers. Suspect is in custody. Both officers are injured. All three have been transported to the hospital.”

Jake Sherman, an NBC Correspondent, posted a video showing a helicopter landing to the east in front of the Capitol.

According to journalist Saqib Ul Islam, the Capitol has been evacuated and barriers have been erected blocking access to the area.
