The head of the Texas GOP is calling for the state to secede from the Union following the Supreme Court’s rejection of their lawsuit. Texas along with 19 other states called on the Supreme Court to overturn the election results in four key swing states. Will there be a second Civil War in America?
Texas Republicans want to secede from America
Earlier this week Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a complaint to the Supreme Court against Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin, claiming that “electoral irregularities” delegitimized the 2020 election results in those states.
The attorney generals of 19 other states endorsed the lawsuit along with more than 100 Republican members of the House.
The lawsuit was swiftly rejected by the Supreme Court. In response, Texas GOP Chairman Allen West floated the idea that Texas should secede from the Union and create their own country that actually follows the Constitution.
“The Supreme Court, in tossing the Texas lawsuit that was joined by seventeen states and 106 US congressmen, has decreed that a state can take unconstitutional actions and violate its own election law. Resulting in damaging effects on other states that abide by the law, while the guilty state suffers no consequences,” West said in a statement.
“This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the US constitution and not be held accountable. This decision will have far-reaching ramifications for the future of our constitutional republic. Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the Constitution.”
The @TexasGOP is out with a statement in the wake of the Supreme Court decision, all but calling for secession:

Second Civil War brewing
Allen West seemed to change his tone a bit in a later interview, where called on the other states to secede, and the Red states should remain as America. Regardless, the outcome is the same.
It’s becoming harder and harder to co-exist with the radical Left and many believe a break up is inevitable. Better to be a peaceful one that is mutually agreeable.
West said, “Maybe we should have a union of states that believe in the Constitution and will abide by the rule of law, and let these other states go out their own separate way and let them, not be supported by these other states such as ourselves.”
