Megan Rapinoe, lesbian Captain of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, not only thinks she’s a man, she’s convinced the whole world revolves around her. She’s not happy with how much money she’s making, so to thumb her nose at the U.S. Soccer Federation, she talked her whole team into turning their jackets inside out to hide the logo. Fans are only going to put up with her shenanigans for so long.
Rapinoe may think she’s a man but isn’t
Before Rapinoe took to the field at Wednesday’s SheBelieves Cup in Texas, she coerced her team’s players to turn their jackets inside out. She wasn’t defiant enough to kneel while the National Anthem played, but she made sure they all hid their U.S. Soccer Federation logos. She’s in a snit because the Federation argued in court that she’s not paid as much as a man simply because she’s not worth as much.

The lesbian soccer star has been fighting a battle for equal pay with men. The U.S. Soccer Federation offered a deal to pay both men and women equal prize money in the future, but that wasn’t good enough for Rapinoe. She insists they’re owed $66 million in back pay. The Federation told them they were being silly. The pay gap isn’t sexism. The law agrees that men and women are physically different, so their pay can be different too. Rapinoe is livid.
“I just want to say, it’s all false,” she denied. “To every girl out there, to every boy out there, who watches this team, who wants to be on this team or just wants to live their dream out, you are not lesser just because you’re a girl. You are not better just because you’re a boy.” The court says otherwise.
Attorneys for the Federation argued in court that “indisputable science explains why the men have a greater physical ability to compete at their level than the women do at theirs.” So, it’s not a sexist stereotype to recognize the difference. Not only that, the fans follow men more than women and the advertising and sponsorships are worth more. The law backs them up. Equal pay “explicitly applies to jobs that require equal skills, and not to employees that possess equal skills.” Rapinoe may pee standing up but that doesn’t change her job description.
Women already get a bonus that men don’t
Another thing that the Federation pointed out is that the women already have the potential to earn more than the men because “it’s required to pay a $100,000 annual salary to a minimum number of women’s team ‘Contracted Players’ each year.” Men don’t get a salary. They only get paid for games they play in.
Despite all her rage, the news didn’t come as a surprise to Rapinoe. “We’ve sort of felt that those are some of the undercurrent feelings that they’ve had for a long time, but to see that as the argument, as blatant misogyny and sexism as the argument against us, is really disappointing,” she told reporters after winning the match on Wednesday.
Rapinoe’s anti-American behavior must be some sort of violation to her contract with the Official U.S. sponsored team, which would give them valid cause to kick her out like a soccer ball.
While the article never said point blank what MEgan gets paid, I dare her to go get a real job and find out what us mere mortals have had to do our entire adult lives. She might just get a dose of reality, but then again she might not.
If she wants to be paid like a man let her join men’s soccer league and take some real physical licks, rather than licks from young girls. Who know she may decide to go straight after having some sense knocked into her.
Society doesn’t pay for self importance. Get over yourself.
