Furthermore, the Wall Street Journal might not have been able to get an answer the question of who was running the country. Democrats and the media are starting to come clean about the Biden cognitive decline. The Journal published a report on how far those around him went to keep his condition covered up. It began in the early days of the 2020 election and continues today, confirming suspicion.
The Biden decline
The press secretary was discouraged from noting that Jill Biden was able to outpace him. The president was 77 at that time. The president didn’t often meet with lawmakers or cabinet members. He was kept behind a “wall” of surrogates.
This system was in place from the first days, including the deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan Aug. of 2021. At least one of his own Democrats tried to sound the alarm about troops being abruptly pulled. Trillions of dollars and 20 years had been spent building that country up.
Biden promises needed to be kept low
Smith tried to at least bring expectations down. “I was begging them to set expectations low.” But he didn’t get so much as a phone call before the deed happened. People were well aware of the president’s deficits but made accommodations for him regularly.

Biden should have had a home health aide
Because that’s what that quote sounded like but the front need to be held up. In fact, the president remained only marginally included on what was going on. With the media’s help it was possible to keep the decline pretty well under wraps til that July debate.
He rambled til Trump made a statement that summarized everything. “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence; I don’t think he knows what he said either.” His mental state became insurmountable.
