One of the things that I think that surprises me the most is when I see a Republican turn to the dark side and begin kissing the backsides of Democrats. It’s even worse when that same Republican ends up working for Democrats.
Once a staunch opponent of President Donald Trump, former Republican congressman Denver Riggleman is now helping Hunter Biden navigate his legal issues.
This controversial move does not seem to come as a surprise to many conservatives considering Riggleman’s break from Trump as well as his assist in the Democrat-led January 6 committee’s investigation.
The Daily Caller reported that Riggleman, “who also served as a technical adviser to the House select committee that investigated the Jan. 6 Capitol breach,” is helping provide similar services in Hunter Biden’s defense.
Riggleman released a statement saying, “I and my forensics, data, and telephony team are conducting data investigations and analysis for Hunter Biden’s legal team.”
At this time it remains unclear exactly why the former GOP congressman has made the decision to assist Hunter Biden’s legal team in his defense.
According to the Daily Caller:
Riggleman, a 53-year-old former Air Force intelligence officer and vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, authored a book entitled “The Breach,” in which he argued that far-right extremism and conspiracy theories present a threat to American democracy.
Calling Riggleman an “invaluable resource,” Biden’s lawyer and confidant Kevin Morris also confirmed that Riggleman has been assisting their legal team since late 2022.
In a statement to CBS News, Morris said, “We have made tremendous strides in untangling the massive amount of corruption and disinformation involved in this story. There will be much more coming to the public.”
CBS News also reported that Riggleman is said to have been dedicating months of his time to conducting a full forensic analysis of the infamous laptop that Hunter abandoned at a Delaware computer repair shop back in 2019.
