Is Senator Hawley (R-MO) the best at grilling witnesses in the hot seat during committee?
I would not say that, but he sure is getting there.
I love how he starts out nice and calm, then drops the hammer when the witness takes the bait.
That is exactly what happened when he had Attorney General Merrick Garland in committee this week.
Boom!
Hawley started out asking Garland if the thought the DOJ was treating all religions equally.
Garland responded, “Our department protects all religions, all ideologies.
“It does not have any bias against any religion of any kind.”
That is when Hawley let loose.
He tore into Garland, stating, “Why did the FBI do this? Why did you send 20-30 SWAT-style agents, SWAT-style team to this guy’s house when everybody else had declined to prosecute and he offered to turn himself in?”
The case lasted all of about an hour in deliberations before the jury voted not guilty.
The attorney in the case discusses the case on a recent podcast, ironically, stating that his end game was to have Garland drug before Congress to answer for the aggressive nature of the arrest…
Garland is a disgrace, and he needs to be removed as soon as possible before Biden can weaponize the DOJ against more conservatives.
