House Speaker McCarthy has turned over the footage from the January 6 committee, all 41,000 hours of, to Tucker Carlson to air publicly.
January 6 Select Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson is outraged over the effort to be transparent.
Let’s See All of It
There is not a single second of that footage that the American people are not entitled to see.
There are no national secrets in there.
Any Capitol Police or Secret Service officers that are seen were only doing their jobs, according to Democrats.
We have local police outed on bodycam footage all the time in shootings, so why should this be any different?
It is different only because Democrats edited all that footage down to just a few hours that were shown during the prime time hearings, but now we get to see what was left on the editing floor.
Thompson stated, “It’s hard to overstate the potential security risks if this material were to be used irresponsibly.
“If Speaker McCarthy has indeed granted Tucker Carlson — a Fox host who routinely spreads misinformation and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s poisonous propaganda — and his producers access to this sensitive footage, he owes the American people an explanation of why he has done so and what steps he has taken to address the significant security concerns at stake.”
The beauty of this is that Democrats are now going to attack the authenticity of the very footage they used in their sham hearings against Trump.
Unlike the hearings, Tucker Carlson is going to make for some real must-see TV in coming days.
