This week, the subject of Trey Gowdy’s monologue was Kevin McCarthy as the House Speaker.
He dropped a bit of a truth bomb regarding what is at stake when McCarthy goes up against the Democrat nominee.
With the majority being so tight, McCarthy could lose this race if the GOP does not get on the same page.
Just Vote for Who Won
I have his monologue below, so you can listen to that in full, but I wanted to ask one question before you hear his take, then I will chime back in.
Why didn’t OUR elected REPRESENTATIVES listen to us?
There is a word in there that Gowdy used that I did not like.
He is telling everyone to “settle” for the person that won.
In this case, I am not even saying he is wrong, because now that McCarthy is the nominee, our options are to take him or allow Hakeem Jeffries to take over as Speaker, dictating what legislation hits the floor and what does not.
Winning the House and losing the Speakership would be a crushing defeat, and there are some in the party that are apparently ready to do just that.
To go back to my question, maybe, just maybe, if McCarthy did his job and listened to We the People, we would not be in this predicament.
We wanted change in the House and Senate, and both party leaders laughed in our face and refused to step down.
If he does lose the Speaker election, it will be a mark against the Party, but it will also be a mark against McCarthy for failing to do what he gets paid to do… represent the voters of this country.
