Oh, the progressive wing of the country is going to have a complete and utter meltdown over this one.
A case was before the courts for an inmate to have blocked sex change restrictions unblocked in Florida.
Reiyn Keohane, the inmate who was receiving therapy and special considerations, was denied by a Trump-appointed judge, U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor, based on standing.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) stepped in to help Keohane in the case, hoping that he could get all his considerations and therapy on the Florida taxpayer, but the judge shut down the case, at least most of the way.
Keohane is serving a 15-year stretch, and after the new rules were introduced, he believed those new rules violated his constitution rights.
Judge Winsor disagreed.
The judge wrote, “Keohane relies extensively on three declarations in which inmates express a profound desire for social accommodations.
“Keohane’s own declaration reports immense distress flowing from being denied these accommodations and that the distress could lead to self-harm, including suicide. Two other inmate declarations report similar feelings.
“But while these are serious matters evidencing serious psychological concerns, Keohane has not shown that the only proper way to address risks of self-harm is to provide inmates with whatever items they contend would reduce those risks.”
As expected, the ACLU whined to the high heavens after the ruling was issued, stating, “Florida officials are waging a baseless campaign to dehumanize and degrade incarcerated people like our client.
“Allowing this policy to move forward threatens the basic human rights of transgender people in the state’s custody and the court’s order affords the state’s policy more credulity than it deserves when the clear intent of the state is to ban this health care outright.”
