Joe Biden is telling tall tales again.
Biden had the most recent Olympic team at the White House to honor them.
Joe being Joe, he had to insert himself into the narrative, which he did by saying that he had been banned from attending the Paris Olympics, but that he would be there in 2028 and nobody could stop him.
Another Lie
It’s not exactly a secret that Joe Biden likes to tell tales that are a bit removed from the facts, and I would wager this was one of them.
At no time did Joe Biden ever say he even wanted to go the Olympics, as First Lady Jill Biden had always been tagged to be the US rep on the trip.
If he had wanted to go, I am sure his buddy over there in France would have found a way to accommodate him.
After all, we have had three presidents attend the Olympics, including George W. Bush who attended in Beijing.
The other two, Reagan and Clinton, both attended the games when they were on U.S. soil, and all did do without incident.
If they can protect Bush in Beijing, they can protect Biden in Paris.
Yet, there was Biden, who stated, “Because I’m president and I cause commotion when I go places, they wouldn’t let me go the Olympics.
“But I watched it all. Jill, my wife, went to the Olympics.”
He added, “The Los Angeles summer games in ’28 — I won’t be president. They can’t stop me from going there then.”
Trust me, if Trump were president and he had made that statement, President Macron would have pushed back immediately.
But everyone protects the old man, so don’t expect France to debunk a statement we all know is a lie anytime soon.
