Donald Trump could soon be ready to cut Kamala Harris’ momentum off at the knees.
Harris just accepted the nomination, and she will surely get the usual convention bump, but Trump appears to have a plan to get her out of the news cycle within days.
If rumors are right, RFK Jr. is about to drop out and throw his support behind Trump.
Time to Go
Kennedy knows that he has no path to victory right now, so it is time to make a deal.
Kennedy’s VP, Nichole Shanahan, shook things up this week when she suggested that the Kennedy and Trump campaigns join forces.
If that happens, we would expect that Trump would have to find a spot in his administration for Kennedy and Shanahan, but where would they fit it?
Trump was asked about the Kennedy situation, and if he could consider adding Kennedy to his cabinet for his endorsement.
Trump stated, “I probably would. I like him a lot. I respect him a lot.”
Senator JD Vance (R-OH) was also asked about Kennedy joining up with their campaign, and he responded, “I haven’t spoken to RFK personally, but I know there’s been a lot of communication back and forth between RFK, between the campaign, between this campaign.
“Look, our argument to RFK, and I’ll make it right now, because, of course, he hasn’t dropped out yet, is, look: If you want a Democratic Party that protected American workers and stood for strong borders, maybe disagreed with Republicans on things like tax policy, that party doesn’t exist anymore.”
There is definitely some crossover in their campaigns where Trump could find Kennedy a home to be his bulldog, especially on the COVID side of things.
Stay tuned because if this venture happens, it could be the big boost that Trump needs to get back out in front in this race.
