Police see shocking things on a daily basis but what they discovered in the passenger seat of Nestor Joel Lujan Flores’ Kia sets a record. Flores was seemingly passed out from intoxication behind the wheel at a Jack in the Box near Dallas, Texas. It wasn’t an “animal” he hit 38 miles back.
Body in passenger seat
It was obvious that the lifeless body in the passenger seat came in through the windshield. An alert Jack in the Box patron saw something and said something, prompting the White Settlement Police Department to respond for “a welfare check” around 11:15 p.m. on December 16.
They soon arrested the driver, who “allegedly hit and killed a pedestrian before driving nearly 40 miles with the body.”
According to the informant, he saw a “car with damage to the hood, windshield, and front end, with the driver hunched over the steering wheel.” He apparently didn’t mention the passenger, letting cops make the discovery for themselves. “The officer arrived and noticed what appeared to be a human body with no signs of life in the front passenger seat.”
Nestor Joel Lujan Flores got a rap sheet longer than my arm.

He then woke the driver and asked him to step out of the car, then instantly “detained him for further investigation.”
Police on the scene knew there would be some sort of charges, no matter what story the suspect came up with.
“Detectives believe the impact was so severe, that the pedestrian was thrown inside the vehicle and came to rest on the passenger seat.” Medical personnel were called but there wasn’t much to be done.
Deceased at the scene
“Medical personnel and the local fire department determined the passenger was deceased at the scene.” He was probably dead as he flopped into the front seat.
“Evidence at the scene led police to believe the pedestrian was struck somewhere between Arlington and White Settlement.” Police eventually identified the driver as 31-year-old Nestor Joel Lujan Flores.
After regaining consciousness Flores “told police he thought he hit an animal in Dallas and continued to drive to the parking lot in White Settlement.” That’s around 38 miles.

That wasn’t a deer in his passenger seat but he didn’t bother to call in a report. Later, “human remains were found near a roadway on Interstate Highway 30 in Dallas that might possibly match the victim.” If they don’t match, police will be really surprised.
Police have Flores behind bars on charges of intoxication manslaughter. He unsurprisingly has priors for drunk driving. “He was arrested in 2020 for driving while intoxicated by the Plano Police Department and convicted for the same charge in 2021.”
This is the first time he woke up with a body in his passenger seat so he’ll probably get probation with a counseling diversion deal.
