Billionaires fund so-called “democracy”. This “democracy” could include sabotage, funding the opposing party. The founder of Fox Broadcasting, Barry Diller, has donated to both sides. Joe Biden received $100,000 but Chris Christie also received $50,000. Democrats are trying to influence both sides since the Dems are perceived as being weaker and easier to defeat in the general election.
Biden is just a figure
The strategy really doesn’t work out though, achieving mixed results at best. Democrats spent over $53 million in 13 Republican primaries. Less than half of the preferred candidates did well.
But they continue, donating in both large and small amounts. An example of a small donor is Kara Swisher, host of Vox Media’s “On with Kara Swisher” podcast. She gave Christie $5.
Paying Biden off
That may keep Democrats from saying derogatory things about the corporations. Swisher wants somebody who might be able to go up against Trump. The Trump obsession continues.
Swisher said, “I gave him money ’cause I want him to be on the stage. I want him to reach that number. And I really like debates. I watch them and I think it’s important that Trump has someone who actually can take him on a little better.”
Maybe last days of Biden
Small donation or large, the effect is the same. Christie doesn’t have the best record according to a new Quinnipiac University poll. Only 17% of registered Republicans like him.
Nationwide polls are even worse. RealClearPolitics showed Christie at 2.7% among registered Republicans. Diller still thinks Christie is a worthwhile investment. “I think nominating Donald Trump has such destructive consequences that supporting Chris Christie’s campaign to stop that from happening is something I very much support. I also like and respect Christie.”
It’s all about stopping Trump. “Like and respect” seemed like an afterthought in the email. Liberals can’t possibly take Christie seriously.
