Donald Trump has become the first US president to have a mug shot taken after being processed at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia.
The former President and eighteen of his allies are facing thirteen charges related to attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
Despite this, Trump’s campaign raised a record-breaking $7.1 million in fundraising after his arrest on Thursday night.

Trump managed to raise an incredible $4.18 million just on Friday alone, which is the most his campaign has ever made in one day according to Politico.
His team was quick to capitalize on this by offering merchandise such as shirts, bumper stickers, posters and beverage coolers with the tagline “NEVER SURRENDER” alongside a picture of his mug shot.
In addition, emails and text messages were sent out requesting donations following his arrest.
The Trump camp says it has earned around $20 million in total over the last three weeks alone since he was hit with a third indictment by Department of Justice (DOJ) Special Counsel Jack Smith over claims that he attempted to intervene in the January 6th 2021 election results.
To draw attention back towards himself, Donald tweeted for the first time since January 2021 with an image of his mug shot and caption “ELECTION INTERFERENCE – NEVER SURRENDER!”
The tweet received over 1.6 million likes so far Sunday morning – clearly proving that even though he is no longer president people still remain loyal supporters of him and rally behind him when needed most.
