It didn’t take long. People voted with their wallets. In a case of “pride” before the fall, Bud Light has been dethroned. Modelo Especial is the new king with an amazing $333 million in sales in the four weeks preceding May 28. They’re up 15.6% from this same time last year. Bud Light dropped off the cliff in comparison with a 22.8% drop. It all started with an ad featuring the transgender Dylan Mulvaney.
A new beer king
Constellation Brands controls Modelo Especial. The CEO, Bill Newlands, responded to the news. He “thought that would take a little longer. We’ve been very fortunate that, that’s gone a little quicker than we had anticipated. But what a great position to be in on the beer side.”
On April 1 Mulvaney was on a personalized Bud Light can in an Instagram post celebrating “365 days of girlhood”. Bud Light has been traditionally blue collar. The backlash was quick.

The king of beers has been dethroned
Musician Kid Rock shared a video of him shooting at several cases of Bud Light. That went viral, earning 27,000 retweets within a day.
Country star Travis Tritt won’t have Anheuser-Busch products on his tour. Bud Light pushed people over the edge, now they’re pushing back.

The new king needs to stay the course
Conservatives are disgusted, having too long watched the beauty of being a woman get destroyed and perverted in the name of “tolerance”. Ladies’ sporting events have biological men entering, winning and it’s allowed to stand. A lady might go into a restroom and find a male in there. Politically that’s now acceptable and celebrated.
Any opposition to this has been met with screams of bigotry, even when it includes children. Bud Light was the last straw. Traditional Americans had enough. If the only thing companies would understand is being hit in the wallet then so be it. Now, marketing executives pushing this will start losing their jobs.
