Guess who is back in the headlines, and it sure did not take very long.
Rumors and leaks are flying right now.
Multiple outlets are now reporting that Tucker Carlson is in negotiations with Trump to host a debate.
Lots of Caveats
Now, before anyone gets too excited, there are lots of pieces that would have to fall into place here.
First, Fox News has to let Carlson out of his contract, which I am not really sure Fox is ready to do.
They have Tucker under contract until after the election, so the money they are paying him is surely less than they would lose if they allow him to go out on his own.
Even if that does happen, that is not the end of this drama.
This debate would be in addition to the RNC debates, and there is not much incentive for the other candidates to attend such a debate.
This would be a debate set up on Trump territory with a Trump-friendly host… so what is the draw for anyone to attend other than Trump?
Furthermore, the RNC could possibly block such a debate, so there is still quite a bit to work out.
