We are used to hearing about violence in Chicago, but that ugliness just seeped into a suburb about 30 miles away.
Three family members are dead, including two juveniles, at the hands of a 17-year-old boy,
The entire community is shocked.
Killer Attacks
According to the report, a young boy who was allegedly dating one of the family members was the trigger man.
Two of the three deceased have been identified.
They are Cartez L. Daniels, 40, and Samiya A. Shelton-Tillman, 17, the latter of whom was believed to have been dating the shooter.
Another juvenile was killed but has not yet been identified.
Additionally, a 34-year-old woman was injured during the attack, but she is recovering at a local hospital.
A neighbor, Ryan Hedberg, described the scene, stating, “Came home from dropping off my kids, hanging out inside, heard two gunshots; there was apparently more, but it’s what we heard sitting inside.
“It’s kind of weird being over here, it’s usually quiet.”
The Village of Bolingbrook Police stated, “Our patrol officers and investigators are working diligently on all potential leads and evidence at this time.”
Police are still investigating a motive.
