A story breaking out of Greenbelt, Maryland on Tuesday reveals that the war against cops has moved to a chilling new level. Heavy handed vaccine mandates are simply a way to control society and have nothing at all to do with science. The shots aren’t even really vaccines. Three veteran Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning police officers are living proof.
No exceptions, cops told
Get the jab or find a new job. That was the take it or leave it warning to cops working for Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning. No exceptions. The suits don’t care what your doctor has to say about it. Or your priest.
Three of their veteran officers “were denied exemptions and fired for refusing to comply with their parent agency’s vaccine mandate.” They weren’t just hiding under tinfoil hats. “Two of them had adverse reactions to the first injection and their doctors told them not to continue.” The third voiced religious concerns.
These officers were loyal to the force and willing to get the shots, at least until they had the first one.
After what the protesting cops went through getting round one, they decided they aren’t dying to keep their jobs. Jonathan Ness, president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 30 is standing behind the men.
That chapter represents the fired MNCPP officers and they’re fighting the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission to the bitter end.
All they’re asking is “reasonable accommodations for any of its officers who applied for a medical or religious exemption from the process.” Cops have rights, too. Even in today’s society where Black Lives Matter but nobody else’s do.
Follow the law
Ness is still shaking his head in wonderment that the cops can’t get the commission to obey simple laws and well established laws.
All the agency has to do is “follow the provisions of Maryland’s Law Enforcement Officer’s Bill of Rights in implementing the new mandate policy.” They’re supposed to do that because “failure to get inoculated was being called a ‘disciplinary matter.‘”
According to the union official, about a dozen cops “filed for exemptions for a variety of reasons and they all received a blanket denial of their requests in early November of 2021.” The problem is the commission isn’t following the rules.
“They hadn’t interviewed the people requesting exemptions and they didn’t make educated decisions about individual officers’ requests for exemption.” The FOP demanded a review and got the same result. Most affected officers quit or retired.
The union is fighting to the mat for the two cops who had allergic reactions. “The other two officers had tried to follow the agency’s mandate and had gotten the first vaccination shot without complaint.” When they did, “they both had adverse reactions to the vaccine – so much so that each of their doctors told them not to get the second shot or any of the boosters.”
Without going into details, Ness assures, “the reaction each of them had was severe enough that they have medical documentation that says they should not continue the vaccination process for the good of their health.” They’re sill on leave without pay.
