It finally happened.
The mayor of El Paso, Oscar Leeser, has finally declared a state of emergency due to increased illegal immigrant encounters at the border.
This situation will only get worse.
Tough Times
Mayor Leeser stated, “Our asylum seekers are not safe.
“We have hundreds and hundreds on the street and that’s not the way we treat our people.
“I want to make sure that people are treated with dignity.”
Texas has a cold front that is going through the area right now, and there are hundreds of people living on the streets.
By this weekend, temperatures will be down into the 20s, so these people that keep coming across the border are going to be out there in this weather.
El Paso is just one of many cities along the border that are being overwhelmed.
The federal government has already offered $6 million to El Paso to help offset costs, all of which is coming out of our pockets.
This is why the media needs to start paying attention to this issue because it is contributing to the deficit that just keeps going the wrong way.
We are now seeing about 7,000 people coming over the border every day, about 1,500 of them coming through El Paso.
And that number is likely to double.
Yet, this story is barely registering on most mainstream media outlets.
