Here Are The Stats Following SCOTUS Ruling

There are a lot fewer legal abortions happening since Roe was sent back to the states, at least 10,000. A study was put together by a pro-abortion non profit to see what had happened since that decision. Data was taken from all states from April through August to do a before and after the ruling. States that were more restrictive saw a drop of more than 22,000 abortions. States that were less restrictive saw an increase.

There have been less abortions

The non-profit #WeCount is part of the Society for Family Planning or SFP. A report by FiveThirtyEight revealed, “In July, the first full month after Dobbs, in states that had decreases in abortion access, an estimated 9,990 fewer people obtained abortions in those states, as compared to April. In August, 12,380 fewer people obtained abortions in states with declines, as compared to April. Overall, a total of 22,370 fewer people obtained an abortion in states with declines in care.”

In those states without as many restrictions there was about an 11% increase or 12,000 abortions. The implication is that ladies who wanted the procedure done traveled to another state.

More relaxed rules

Those states that were more relaxed included North Carolina, Kansas, Colorado, and Illinois. Texas had almost nothing, only 10 abortions in that time frame.

Ten states had none at all, including Alabama, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. Mississippi started this ball rolling by bringing the case to the Supreme Court.

Abortions are banned

A total of 13 states are on the list of those that have banned the procedure. They are Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

More children live and pro-life groups are celebrating. Kristan Hawkins is the president of Students for Life of America. She said, “We are celebrating the fact that at least 10,000 babies have a chance at life. It’s a sign of course correction and of ordinary Americans finally having a say in how many lives are tragically lost to the tragedy of abortion.”
