Biden Appears To Hail Fuel Crisis As ‘Incredible Transition’

Joe Biden seemed to almost celebrate the escalating fuel crisis as a moment of “incredible transition” away from dependence on ‘non-renewable’ fuel sources, ignoring the plight of the American people. In a joint presser with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo, a reporter asked Biden whether Americans must ready themselves for an economic recession.

When Biden stated Americans need to not fret about an economic downturn, he declared his administration has actually made “significant progress” towards enhancing the economy prior to duplicating talking points about “Putin’s tax” (describing record-high gas costs) and the war in Ukraine intensifying domestic issues.

Biden stated the peaceful part out loud, exclaiming that, “God willing,” Americans will be less dependent on gas when the energy crisis subsides.

“Here’s the situation: When it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that — God willing — when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden said.

The Biden administration has actually consistently attempted to reframe the energy crisis in a favorable light. It thinks record-high rates at the gas pump  (another new record was set on Monday) will motivate Americans to desert their internal combustion engines for electrical automobiles, all in the name of climate change.

There are two rather substantial problems with this theory.

Electrical automobiles are considerably more costly than internal combustion cars and trucks. Kelley Blue Book said the typical expense for an EV in February was $64,685, while the typical cost of a compact vehicle and compact SUV or crossover were $26,196 and $33,732, respectively. Therefore, knowing the average household earnings are under $70,000, the majority of Americans would need to borrow an enormous quantity of debt to buy an EV.

Second, the commodity cost of metals that are needed in the production of EV batteries, such as lithium carbonate, has gone through the roof with no hope of coming down any time soon.

At the end of his response, Biden stated he thinks the very best strategy to attend to the energy crisis is to push OPEC to increase production and concentrate on growing the U.S. economy.

He made no reference to increasing domestic energy production.
