Top Republican in Battleground State DEAD

One of the truly good guys in politics is no longer with us.

David Ralston, the Georgia Speaker of the House, has passed away.

He was only 68 years old.

Stepping Down

It was only a few weeks ago that Ralston announced that he would be stepping away from his leadership role.

He had planned on remaining in office, but he wanted to step back from leadership to concentrate on his health, which had deteriorated in recent months.

Then, he passed away.

Governor Kemp stated, “Our state lost one of its true giants.”

He also ordered flags to be flown at half-staff until after the funeral.

House Speaker Pro Tem Jan Jones stated, “David Ralston spent his career in public service trying to lift others up and move our state forward.

“He knew the awesome power of bringing people together — reasoning together — and finding common ground. Regardless of political ideology, he treated everyone with respect and was a model of civility.”

The man was absolutely adored on both the left and right, a rare happenstance in today’s political environment.
