Weaponized DOJ Goes After Great State of Texas

Democrats can’t stand that Texas is such a strong conservative state. Like Trump, it needs to be brought down. The DOJ is trying to tell Texans they’re discriminatory when they have a ton of minorities coming through there regularly. Mexicans and those from other southern countries cross there. There’s death in other countries so it makes sense people would risk their lives to come to the United States for a better life.

The DOJ is going after Texas

New census figures came out so redistricting is going on. It seems the new maps violate the Voting Rights Act and the Biden administration isn’t happy.

Attorney General Merrick Garland said in the lawsuit that the redistricting will, “deny or abridge the rights of Latino and Black voters to vote on account of their race, color or membership in a language minority group.” Supposedly it is rushed and there’s an “overall disregard” for minorities.

Texas welcomes all

Including minorities. Democrats have to paint conservatives as discriminatory. The lie must continue. Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta wants the court to keep Texas from using the new maps.

“Our investigation determined that Texas’ redistricting plans will dilute the increased minority voting strength that should have developed from these significant demographic shifts,” Gupta sniffed. The most recent census allowed two more districts with both being white majorities.

Texas minorities

If more minorities would have moved into those districts, it would have been done that way, but they didn’t. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was completely disgusted with this, lashing out on Twitter, saying it was “absurd” and “the Biden Administration’s latest ploy to control Texas voters.” His office is “confident that our legislature’s redistricting decisions will be proven lawful, and this preposterous attempt to sway democracy will fail.”

Throw a multitude of lawsuits against an entity, bog it down in court is the strategy. This is the second lawsuit the DOJ has filed against Texas in just a couple months. The Justice Department said S.B. 1 made voting more difficult for those with disabilities or those who don’t read English well. Curiously, the Supreme Court in 2013 gutted the part of the Voting Rights Act that required areas of discrimination to be cleared with the DOJ. Obama was President then. Garland wants it restored.
