New Yorker staff writer and CNN Chief Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended over an incident on a Zoom call where he exposed his penis.
Vice broke the story on Monday, reporting that they were investigating an incident where Toobin’s genitalia was seen on video by members of the New Yorker and WNYC radio during a Zoom call last week.
The purpose of the Zoom call was reportedly an “election simulation,” which included Toobin’s New Yorker colleagues Jane Mayer, Masha Gessen, Andrew Marantz, Jelani Cobb, Evan Osnos, Sue Halpern, and Dexter Filkins. Each participant was tasked with playing a role in potential 2020 election outcomes including President Trump, Joe Biden, “establishment Republicans,” ‘establishment Democrats,” and “the military.” Toobin’s role was to play “the courts.”
“Jeffrey Toobin has been suspended while we investigate the matter,” a spokesperson for the New Yorker said in a statement to Fox News.
Toobin, who is one of CNN‘s biggest stars, apologized for his “embarrassingly stupid mistake,” and tried to explain his actions.
“I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers. I believed I was not visible on Zoom. I thought no one on the Zoom call could see me. I thought I had muted the Zoom video,” the CNN analyst said in a statement to Motherboard.
Toobin has not posted on Twitter since October 13, and has not appeared on CNN since Saturday, according to Vice. A statement from CNN read: “Jeff Toobin has asked for some time off while he deals with a personal issue, which we have granted.”

Since the story was first reported, Vice has added an update which states: “This piece has been updated with more detail about the call and the headline has been updated to reflect that Toobin was masturbating.”

According to information from multiple sources, Toobin was seen masturbating during what was supposed to be a 10-minute “strategy session,” but that it “seemed like Toobin was on a second video call.”
“The sources said that when the groups returned from their breakout rooms, Toobin lowered the camera. The people on the call said they could see Toobin touching his penis. Toobin then left the call. Moments later, he called back in, seemingly unaware of what his colleagues had been able to see, and the simulation continued,” Vice reported.
As usual, the depravity of the left knows no bounds. Left-wing news outlet Buzzfeed tried to act as if the CNN analyst’s actions were normal, writing an article entitled “Jeffrey Toobin Can’t Be The Only Person Masturbating On Work Zoom Calls”.
