Fauci has been pretty vague about everything coronavirus related. “It could do this, it could do that”. A virus can be vague, yes, but he really doesn’t say anything concrete. The flu and other deadly illnesses are still here. But Bob Woodward may have an ax to grind, trying to justify his existence and sell his book. The press makes things up anyway to get attention and justify their existence. Fauci had to come out and say again he thought the President was doing okay.
Fauci stands his ground
John Roberts on Fox News’ Daily Briefing pressed Fauci on Trump’s pandemic strategy. “You were there through that whole thing. Was that the playbook or was that the president just going his own direction?” Roberts asked.
“You know, I don’t think so, John,” Fauci answered, “I don’t recall anything different than in our discussions with the president that he said things quite similar publicly.” Fauci doesn’t think the President was distorting anything.
Fauci hasn’t read the book
So when he was pressed about comments he avoided answering. “If you notice, others have said that,” Fauci said. “You know, you should ask others. I don’t recall that at all.” There was apparently things said in the book Roberts wanted confirmation on. Fauci wasn’t going to give him that.
He didn’t want to get involved in games the press can play, saying he “didn’t want to get involved in the kind of stuff that is distracting,” However, he did allude to the comments in the book might not be appropriate.
“So you would question that account?” Roberts wondered.
“Yeah, yeah,” Fauci quickly shot back. Next subject.
Fauci has noted the President has stayed consistent
Much to the chagrin of those constantly trying to take Trump down. Trump is very optimistic, knowing we’re capable of overcoming anything. But he’s also cautious. Clear back in January Trump said at a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, “Hopefully everything’s going to be great. They have somewhat of a problem, but hopefully it’s all going to be great. But, we’re working with China just so you know, and other countries very, very closely, so it doesn’t get out of hand, but it’s something that we have to be very, very careful with, right? We have to be very careful.” A rally in NH a couple days later he sounded similar.
Finally, in his State of the Union address that Pelosi hated he said he’d take care of us. “Protecting Americans’ health also means fighting infectious diseases. We are coordinating with the Chinese government and working closely together on the coronavirus outbreak in China. My administration will take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from this threat.”
m glad hes backing POTUS, but I dont trust this man.
