You might think it’s in your best interests to march with people that just seem to want justice. You may be told by the DNC it’s in your best political interests to do this. But your partnering with a force that wants to tear down the framework that got you elected. Being liberal can get you pulled in so many political directions at once you don’t know which direction to go in. This is why you need to believe in something and stick to it.
Being a liberal Democrat didn’t buy Mayor Ted Wheeler any points
Mayor Wheeler was probably jeered more than he was cheered, and this by people he supports. He was briefly cheered when he proclaimed, “Black Lives Matter!”
“I want to thank the thousands of you who have come out to oppose the Trump administration’s occupation of this city,” Wheeler told the people gathered near the federal courthouse. “The reason this is important is it is not just happening in Portland … we’re on the front line here in Portland.”
Being liberal will have you blowing in the wind
Portland residents, including some City Council members have wanted Mayor Wheeler to rein in local police. Businesses wanted the opposite. There would have been no need for federal agents if the police were allowed to do their job. Who pays you more Mayor, residents or business?
City Council banned police from cooperating with federal agents or arresting protestors. Attorneys asked the local judge to issue restraining orders against those blocking protestors.
Liberals want the chaos leading up to the election
Trump does have the authority to send in federalized troops if local authorities seem to put their heads in the sand. Democrats don’t want the law and order that is so important to a functioning society. Liberals with Trump Derangement Syndrome want Trump out so badly – and by extension the people who elected him – that they’ll bring down society.
This is a federal courthouse. Trump has every right to protect it. David Morrell is a US government attorney. He said, “The Hatfield courthouse did not damage itself. The protests are dangerous and volatile.” The motion for a temporary restraining order is “extraordinary” and only based on “a few threadbare declarations” and a video.
Protestors tried repeatedly to break into the federal courthouse, setting fires around it. Oregon officials haven’t been willing to work with the federal agents to stop the courthouse vandalism or protect federal officials.
Concerned American citizens could better see what pathetic protest rioters are doing if Fox news would stop cutting away from the videos of their absurd behavior. The public must see what is happening so we can be prepared and understanding what is really going on.
