Republicans are suspicious that staff is trying to cover up Biden’s decline as he tries to run for another term. James Comer of Kentucky has subpoenaed three staffers he believes are trying to wrap the president in a protective blanket. Three White House employees, Ashley Williams, Anthony Bernal, and Annie Tomasini are accused of creating a protective bubble around him. Biden’s independence is gone.
Staffers are needed
He “relies on staff to nudge him with reminders of who he’s meeting, including former staffers and advisers who Biden should easily remember without a reminder from Annie.” The White House denies this.
Comer had previously sought these three for the inquiry into the document handling case but the White House refused to let them be interviewed. The Oversight Committee had tweeted out that these three people were running interference for Biden and doing his job for him due to his cognitive state.
Comer put out a statement,
“The White House has shielded three key aides from testifying … and now we’ve learned through reporting these same aides are also seeking to cover up President Biden’s declining cognitive state inside the White House. President Biden is clearly unfit for office, yet his staff are trying to hide the truth from the American people. Key White House staff must come before our committee so we can provide the transparency and accountability that Americans deserve.”
Comer wants to talk with the staffers
Depositions are planned for Williams on July 23, Bernal on July 24 and Tomasini for July 25. The cover letters for those subpoenas suggest these three have “firsthand knowledge” as to whether the president is capable of being a leader.
The letters state, “The Committee seeks this information to explore whether the time has come for Congress to revisit potential legislation to address the oversight of presidents’ fitness to serve pursuant to its authority under Section 4 of the Twenty-Fifth Amendment.” Comer also wants the White House physician to attend, especially due to Dr. O’Connor’s conflicts of interest with the Biden family.
White House spokesman Ian Sams rolled his eyes, saying Republicans were chasing “crazy, discredited conspiracy theories.” Karine Jean-Pierre consistently denies Biden is being monitored by a Parkinson’s specialist.
Staffers need to be pressured
This might keep the pressure on Democrats in chaos since the president’s terrible debate performance. Although the aides are “low profile” they’re also “very influential”.

All three aides have until July 17 to respond to Comer.
